About GBS

The Gainesville Bonsai Society is a non-profit collection of individuals dedicated to advancing the Art of Bonsai thru demonstrations, shows, and education. We are affiliated with State, Regional and International Bonsai federations.

The Gainesville Bonsai Society was established in 1973 and has been active in promoting awareness and enjoyment of the art of bonsai ever since that time.

The club meets on the third Saturday of each month at Kanapaha Botanical Gardens at 9:30 a.m.

Club activities are varied and provide educational opportunities for members at all levels of skill, from beginning to advanced. Club activities may include field trips to bonsai nurseries, hands-on workshops, visiting bonsai teachers, individual assistance for members' trees, and presentations on bonsai related topics.
